Employee Is Injured in Fall from Scaffold

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on January 27, 2005, Employee #1 was climbing up the side frame of the metal scaffold when he lost his footing and fell approximately 20 feet to the ground. He received cuts, bruises, and a sore ankle. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for evaluation and was released approximately three hours later. Further investigation revealed that the scaffold had a safe means of access but the employee chose to use the side frame to climb to the higher working platform. There were two other employees at the site, but neither of them witnessed the fall.
