Employee Fractures Wrist in Fall from Elevated Truck Bed

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on January 3, 2005, Employee #1 was pulling back on a strap to tighten the load on the flatbed truck. His foot got stuck in a space between two stacks of lumber, and he fell off, approximately 8 ft. The employee was taken first to the Occupational Clinic in Hayward, but the clinic could not treat the injury as it was beyond their capabilities and referred him to Washington Hospital. Employee #1 sustained a broken left wrist and was hospitalized and underwent surgery at Washington Hospital.
