Employee's leg is amputated when struck by water truck

On July 1, 2004, Employee #1, a 19-year-old laborer, was exposed to vehicular traffic on a public roadway. While standing at the rear of a water truck, he was struck by another truck and his right leg was amputated. The Traffic Collision Investigation determined that the primary factor of this incident was inattention by the operator of vehicle. The lack of Traffic Control Devices was determined to be an associated factor.
