Investigation Summary
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on June 3 2004, an employee was cutting a 4-in. by 4-in. piece of plywood on a roof with a skill saw. He propped the plywood against his leg and cut it from the bottom up towards his leg. The employee stated during an interview that he had not adjusted the saw for the thickness of the plywood and that he held back the guard. When he made his cut, he cut his leg also. The skill saw was examined by the inspector and appeared to be in good working order. The employee was taken to St. Rose Hospital in Hayward. The employee was hospitalized and treated for cuts.
