Employee Suffers Laceration On Paper Cutting Blade

On May 13, 2004, Employee #1 sustained a severe laceration of his right wrist and forearm when he slipped and, in an attempt to restrain himself against the fall, accidentally placed his right arm over a piece of operating equipment. Employee #1's wrist and forearm were lacerated by a paper tube cutting saw blade that was not fully guarded. The guard mechanism did not guard the top half of the rotating blade adequately. Employee #1 was treated for his injuries but was not hospitalized.
