Investigation Summary
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on July 22, 2004, an employee was installing a 2 in. by 4 in. board on the exterior of a condominium under construction. As he was working, he was handed an air-operated nail gun. The employee accidentally struck his chest with the gun, which fired, discharging a 3-inch nail into his chest. The employee was driven to a local hospital approximately 1.1 miles away where he died at 9:00 p.m.
