Employee Amputates Thumb While Operating Wire Wheel

On November 30, 2004, an employee was operating a wire wheel to remove burs from a pipe. The pipe jammed between the tool rest and the wire wheel, pulling the employee's thumb into the wire wheel, amputating the tip of his left thumb.
