Employee Amputates Finger in Machine

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 31, 2007, an employee, a machine operator was cutting a piece of wood using a table saw. The employee cut a piece of wood, dimension of 19.625-in. long, 2.75-in. wide and 0.625-in. thick, to reduce its width to one inch wide. Without turning the power off, he grabbed the material that was cut with his right hand and the outfall with his left hand. In the process his finger was caught by the machine, amputating his left fore finger. The employee was hospitalized and treated for anamputation.
