Investigation Summary
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on May 11, 2006, Employee #1, a worker for a framing contractor, was working at a construction site of thirty-two new wood-frame town homes. He was operating a circular saw, performing a ripping cut at a 45 degree angle on a piece of 2 by 4 lumber that measured approximately 12 to 14 inches long. The saw kicked back, causing his left hand to come into contact with the blade of the saw. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for lacerations to the fingers on his left hand.
