Event: 07/09/2004
Employee is injured while pulling merchandize with forklift

At approximately 9:00 a.m. o July 9, 2004, an employee was driving a Crown 3000 stocker, Number 26 stocker, in a backward driving position in the warehouse area attempting to pull order of merchandise. As he arrived to the accident site, he attempted to park the truck to speak with another employee in the area. He removed his left foot from the brake switch in order to stop the vehicle. Before the truck made a complete stop, the employee had put his left foot outside the truck and became caught between the truck body and a corner of a storage rack post. After the accident occurred, paramedics were called and transferred the employee to the USC Medical Center for medical treatment, where he was hospitalized and treated for a fractured foot.
