Employee Amputates Toes with Skillsaw

On May 5, 2005, Employee #1, a carpenter, was cutting a 2-ft by 4-ft piece of lumber using a circular Skill Saw, with the guard in place, when the saw kicked back on him. He had the lumber braced across his lower left leg, when it kicked back. As he lowered the saw, it amputated the first and second toe on his left foot. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
