Investigation Summary
At about 1:45 p.m. on October 7, 2004, Employee #1, temporarily employed as a carpenter with Eastridge Group, was installing interior electrical wiring at a residence. At the same time, employees of another contractor were installing exterior wood siding. The exterior crew was operating a Hitachi pneumatic air nailer. One of the nails ricocheted off of a wood-framed wall. Either the nail or flying debris struck Employee #1's eye. He was hospitalized for treatment of the eye injury. Employee #1 was not wearing eye protection at the time.
