Employee amputates finger in power saw

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 8, 2004, an employee was operating a Ryobi brand compound miter saw at a job site. He was attempting to cut a piece of aluminum channel used for lathing. The employee said that the workpiece suddenly pulled into blade abruptly and caused his hand to follow. He cut off the tip of a finger and lacerated part of the hand. He was hospitalized and treated for amputation.
