Investigation Summary
On September 22, 2003, an employee was working for 4 to 5 hours installing drywall and using a 4-ft ladder on the 7-ft mobile fabricated frame scaffold platform. The employee was instructed by the foreman to use the ladder on the scaffold platform so he could reach the top wall sections and install drywall. He had installed six drywall screws into a section of drywall when the mobile scaffold began to roll away from the wall, causing the step ladder that was leaning against the wall to fall from the scaffold. The employee fell to the concrete floor landing on the ladder he was working from injuring his right knee. He received severe damage to his knee which required surgery and hospitalization for several days and had to undergo rehabilitation for his knee.
