Falling Lumber Kills Truck Driver

At approximately 8:50 a.m. on October 17, 2003, Employee #1, was unloading a load of lumber when the lumber began to shift as the lift truck operator started moving the load. The truck driver was unaware of the shift and was in the area where the shift started at which time the bundle of lumber (approximately 6,700 square-ft.) fell from trailer onto Employee #1 and pinned him onto the pavement. Employee #1 was killed in this struck-by event.
