Employee's hand is injured by press

On July 2, 2003, Employee #1 was investigating the cause of a reoccurring jamming problem in a press. After he removed the safety guard to watch the press cycle, another jam occurred. When Employee #1 attempted to clear the jam with his left hand, the press cycled, smashing his hand. Employee #1 was hospitalized for an amputation.
