Investigation Summary
On May 5, 2004, an employee used a "Dewalt" table saw to rip 1-inch by 3-inch oak trim. The saw did not have a hood guard, spreader or non-kickback fingers. The oak trim kicked back and caused the employee's fingers to contact the blade. The first joints of his left middle and little fingers were amputated. The employee did not require hospitalization.
