Employee is killed when trench collapsed

On July 7, 2004, an employee and two coworkers were working on a water and sewer line in a trench four feet wide by nine feet deep with vertical walls. The employee was bent over doing a connection when trench collapsed. The employee was buried up to waist. He suffered broken pelvis and internal injuries including a punctured main artery and was killed.
