Employee electrocuted while removing guardrail from road

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on November 3, 2003, Employee #1 was using a punch machine to remove a guardrail on the side of a road near Pilot Rock, OR. His hands were touching the guardrail when the punch machine contacted a 7,200 volt, overhead power line. The current passed through the machine to the railing and then to Employee #1. He was transported to a local hospital in Pendleton, OR, where he was pronounced dead.
