Employee Is Injured in Fall from Utility Pole

At 9:35 a.m. on November 7, 2006, Employee #1, an Electrical Distribution Mechanic Trainee with the City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power, was descending a wooden utility pole when one of his gaffs hit a knot and forced him away from the pole. This caused him to fall 40 ft to the ground. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Mammoth Hospital for fractures of both ankles.
