Employee dies after complications from fall from scaffold

On October 24, 2003, Employee #1, a laborer, was working on the second level of scaffold performing masonry tasks. He was standing on a scaffold extension, when an extension arm fell off causing him to fall to the ground. His head hit the wall on the way down, causing head lacerations and injury to his jaw and mouth. Employee#1 was taken to the hospital and died fifteen days later from pneumonia.
