Investigation Summary
On February 3, 2003, Employee #1, of Class 1 Transport, Inc., was attempting to secure a load of bricks on a truck trailer, in preparation for transport. He stepped across the corner of a portion of the load and fell backwards, approximately four and a half feet, to the ground below. A coworker observed Employee #1 fall. The coworker immediately jumped down from the trailer, and summoned Emergency medical services. Then the coworker attempted to stabilize Employee #1 until help arrived. Employee #1 complained of chest and back pain, before losing consciousness. Employee #1 was transported to a hospital where he died nine days later.
