Investigation Summary

On July 14, 2003, Employees #1, #2 and #3 were working inside a firing range of Glock, Inc. Two of the employees were test firing handguns while a third employee, working across the room, was cutting something with a high speed cutting saw. The employee doing the cutting was working over a 55 gallon drum of expended small arms brass. It is speculated that the sparks caused by the high speed cutter ignited the powder residue in the expended brass shells causing a small flashover. Employee #1 was killed, while Employees #2 and #3 suffered burns. Employee #2 was hospitalized while Employee #3 was not
