Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 201681590
Event: 11/07/2003
Employee suffered fractured leg after being struck by window

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on November 7, 2003, Employee #1 was cutting off a window flange with a sazall and tried to reposition himself on the second step (2 ft) of a 6 ft step ladder. He doesn't remember if his foot became entangled in an extension cord when he slipped or if he missed the rung. The employee tried to catch the window before it fell to walk it down but the window was too heavy to walk it backwards. He then tried to get out of the way when it struck the back of his leg. He was treated at the hospital with a fractured leg above the ankle.
