Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on January 14, 2003, an employee was unloading roof trusses from a truck when an unstable bundle of trusses struck him. When the employee used a lifting mechanism to unload the trusses, a load shifted causing it to swing towards him. The load struck him on his right side and the impact knocked him off the truck. He fell approximately eight feet. Emergency services were called and the employee was transported to a local hospital. The employee sustained broken ribs and severe bruising.
