Employee Is Injured When Cut by Glass

At 9:00 a.m. on September 15, 2003, Employee #1, who was involved in the retail sales and installation of doors and windows, lifted a large piece of used, broken glass, which was approximately 3 ft by 4 ft, from the bed of a Ford pick-up truck (Model F140). He was attempting to lower the glass into a dumpster. He stood in the bed of the pick-up, which was parked next to the dumpster, to lower the glass. While lowering the glass, the glass shattered and cut his right arm. He suffered from a severed brachial artery, bicep muscle, and partial median nerve. He was hospitalized.
