Employee Falls from Ladder

At 2:30 p.m. on February 10, 2003, Employee #1, a full-time maintenance mechanic, was fish taping electrical wires and was approximately seven feet off the ground on a 10-foot aluminum ladder. He was pulling wire through the 90 degree junction elbow that was twelve feet above the ground. The conduit was located inside a 3,500 square foot classroom used to teach welding/braising/cutting. The classroom consists of chairs, welding machines, drill presses and various hand tools. He fell from the ladder and suffered facial fractures, scaring and blindness to his left eye.
