Employee Is Injured after Being Struck by Bale of Carpet

On January 3, 2005, Employee #1 and a coworker stood between a flat bed box-truck and a nearby 14-ft high batch of four bales of compressed 900 lb. carpet pad foam. The carpet leaned and fell. The third bale from the bottom fell onto Employee #1, striking his upper body and forcing his head against the side of the parked truck. The coworker managed to escape without injury, and Employee #1 was hospitalized.
