Employee Slipped and Fell On Wet Floor

At approximately 9:45 a.m. on June 19, 2003, Employee #1 was assisting Alzheimer and dementia residents as part of her normal duties in the retirement residence. Employee #1, a residential aide, walked into a bathroom adjacent to an activity and dining room to retrieve something and slipped and fell because of water that was on the bathroom floor. Employee #1 struck her knee on the bathroom tub wall. Employee #1 sustained a displaced right kneecap that required surgery. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for her injuries. There were no witnesses to the accident, nor witnesses to the water on the floor.
