Employee dies of apparent heart attack in idling truck

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Employee #1, a truck driver, finished taking a tarp off the roll-off box on the back of his truck. He was preparing to unload at the landfill. Another driver helped Employee #1 fold the tarp. This driver stated that Employee #1 seemed fine and was joking around. Employee #1 had been complaining since his last surgery, on his ceratoid artery, about an ear and jaw infection. Employee #1 has had heart problems for sometime and was scheduled to meet with his physician according to his supervisor. The other truck driver noticed Employee #1's truck slowly coasting backwards and tried to call him on the radio but received no response. He went to Employee #1's truck and observed him leaning up against the door and seat. He noticed that Employee #1 took several breaths and appeared to be white in the face. It had been approximately five minutes since they had folded the tarp. Medical assistance was given but Employee #1 died.
