Investigation Summary
On December 6, 2001, Employee #1 was struck by a motor vehicle on a State Highway. Employee #1 was in the roadway to halt traffic to assist a truck attempting to enter the highway. Employee #1 was wearing dark clothing. There were no construction signs posted. The accident occurred under daylight conditions. The motorist did not see Employee #1 and struck him head on at approximately 38 miles per hour. Employee #1 received fatal injuries in the accident.
