Employee injured when storage rack fell over

On August 13, 2001, Employee #1 and a coworker were working for Custom Marble Design in Middletown, MD. The two employees were removing a slab of granite weighing over 1,000 pounds from a storage rack. The coworker, a forklift operator, was removing the slab from the storage rack when the slab hit the storage rack causing the rack to fall over. Employee #1 was assisting the forklift operator by guiding the slab out of the rack. Employee #1 was hit by the slab when the rack fell over and he was temporarily pinned under the slab, causing injuries to his head and knees. Employee #1 was hospitalized with his injuries.
