Employee Dies from Congestive Heart Failure

At 8:00 a.m. on March 12, 2002, cyclohexane ethyl ether cement was spilled in the G2 Unit of Washington Ohio Services, LLC. Employee #1 entered the area to shut off the valve where the spill occurred. After returning to the outside of the building, Employee #1 collapsed. He was given medical assistance and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The preliminary report from the Washington County coroner's office stated that Employee #1 died from congestive heart failure. The coroner stated the chemical exposure would not have promoted the employee's heart failure.
