Investigation Summary
On January 16, 2002, five employees of Emerson Motor Company were hospitalized as a result of unspecified chemical exposure. All five employees were taken to the emergency room; Employees #1 and #2 were released around 6:00 p.m., after observation, treatment and stabilization. Employees #3, #4 and #5 were kept overnight for treatment and stabilization. Two of the employees kept overnight had preexisting respiratory conditions (COPD) and one employee was out of work for three weeks for unrelated medical condition and surgery. No permanent injuries were reported.
