Employee Is Killed in Fall When He Is Knocked Off Ladder

On August 26, 2002, Employee #1 was working at the construction site of a new single-family residence. He was standing on a ladder and cutting a strap that held together two upright trusses of different lengths. Once the strap was cut, all the trusses fell over. The shorter trusses fell below the top plate and struck Employee #1, knocking him off the ladder and onto the cement floor of the garage. His head struck the ground as he landed and he sustained a concussion. Employee #1 was killed.
