Employee killed in fall through metal roof

Employee #1, a maintenance worker, was escorting a contractor to the roof of a building so he could inspect it prior to bidding on a roofing job. The two men accessed the roof from a ladder and catwalk attached to the side of the building. They stepped onto the roof and were walking across it to an area where the work was to be done. Employee #1 was about 6 ft ahead of the contractor when he fell 30 ft through the metal roof and landed on a concrete floor. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.
