Investigation Summary
An employee was sorting cardboard. A Bobcat loader operator working in the same area as the sorter observed the sorter working on the left side of a cardboard pile. Before the Bobcat operator put his vehicle into reverse, he looked into the cab's rear view mirror and on both sides of the loader to ensure that his path was clear. When the operator drove in reverse he struck and ran over the material sorter, killing him instantly. According to the only eye witness, the deceased was bending down, and positioned directly in the middle, or blind side of the Bobcat.
