Employee struck and killed by tractor trailer

On December 19, 2000, an independent driver of J. G. Hardison, Inc., of Roxboro, NC, arrived at the job site to pick up a load of sawdust. The driver entered the business property, stopped his truck, entered the office to get his paperwork, returned to his truck, and then continued on to get his load. At some point, Employee #1 was struck and killed by the tractor trailer. The driver did not realize that he struck someone until a worker went to the sawdust area to tell him about the accident.
