Employee Suffers Burns Repairing A Commercial Dishwasher

Employee #1 was working on the conveyor inside a Vulcan Model A-814 commercial dishwasher at a public high school cafeteria. Employee #1 had not performed a lockout procedure and tripped an activation switch causing the machine to operate. Employee #1 was burned on the right arm, shoulder and back by the sprayed 180-degree-Fahrenheit water and detergent. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
