Employees injured in chemical explosion

On September 13, 2000, a research chemist, while experimenting upon the distillation of crude 1,2 tetramethyldichlorosilane was injured by an explosion resulting directly from this process. Employee #1 was hospitalized with chemical burns. Employees #2 and #3 were admitted to the hospital overnight for observation based on their initial injuries involving potential exposure to hydrogen chloride.
