Employee Fractured Ankle Falling After Dropping Truss

Employee #1 fractured his right ankle falling after dropping a truss. Employee #1 and a coworker were standing on the top frame of opposite walls taking down and removing a wooden scissor truss and laying it over on a wall. The wooden scissor truss measured eight feet by five feet. Employee #1 lost the hold on his end of the truss, which dropped on that end to the floor 8 feet below. Employee #1 landed on his heels and lost his balance, sustaining a fracture to his right ankle. His coworker did not let go of his end of the truss, which pulled him off the wall and down to the floor 8 feet below.
