Employee injures finger in muck car

On July 20, 2004, Employee #1 was at the end of his shift at the underground colemanite ore mine in Death Valley, CA. He jumped into the bucket of a muck car rather than walk to the lift as his crew was leaving their 1995 level work area. The mucker struck the rib of the mine at level 1945 and Employee #1's fingers were caught in the hinge point of the mucker ejector bucket. His left index finger was crushed.
