Investigation Summary
On July 10, 2002, Employee #1 was pressing parts on a Rouselle 45-ton part revolution power press, Number 9. She was sitting on a stool with the palm buttons in front of her, 10 ft from the point of operation. She was inserting material with her right hand and removing material with her left hand. Both of her elbows contacted the palm buttons which activated the press. The press closed on her right hand breaking her thumb and multiple bones in the right hand. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
