Employee injured when pinned against wall by vehicle

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on April 25, 2000, Employee #1 was marking a concrete wall in preparation for cutting. A subcontractor's vehicle was in the way, and he requested that it be moved to allow access to the wall for marking and cutting. When the subcontractor started up the vehicle, it lurched backward, crushing Employee #1 against the wall. He screamed and the subcontractor pulled away. Employee #1 sustained fractured ribs, collapsed lungs, and spinal injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
