Employee Amputated Finger with Table Saw

At approximately 10:20 a.m., Employee #1 was ripping 45-degree angles off of 10-foot cedar boards. Employee #1 reached out to remove a piece of material that was behind the saw from the previous cut on the deck of the table saw. He came in contact with the saw blade. The index finger of his left hand was amputated at the first knuckle and his long finger and thumb were also injured. Other employees on the site applied first aid and put the amputated finger on ice while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive. Employee #1 was hospitalized for his injury.
