Investigation Summary
On November 18, 1999, Employee #1 was operating a table saw to cut a 2 in. by 6 ft board into three 2 in. by 2 ft boards. As he was cutting the board, his left hand encountered the blade of the saw. The blade amputated several fingers on his left hand. He was hospitalized to receive surgical and postoperative treatment to repair phalangeal damage to tendinous, muscular, and skeletal tissues.
