Employee injured when finger amputated by saw blade

At 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 1999, Employee #1 approached an unguarded tenoner saw in a wood remanufacturer establishment and attempted to clear a jamb that had occurred in the conveyor directly below the saw. The boards moved and pinched his hand and his reflex action caused his hand to contact the rotating saw blade, severing his right index finger. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
