Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 302478128
Event: 09/22/1999
Employee injured from fall of 7 ft from mobile scaffolding

The injured employee was working on a fabricated mobile scaffold system that measured 7 ft long by 5 ft wide by 12 ft 6 in. high. The company had placed fabricated scaffold planks at a level of 7 ft 4 in. high. The employee was working on this level, installing metal studs for drywall to the bulkhead. Another employee, who was working in close proximity of the scaffold, said that he saw the injured employee reach up to screw a stud in, when the scaffold system moved and he fell off of the scaffold, striking his body onto a concrete floor and the metal stud walls. The wheel locks on the fabricated mobile scaffold system were not locked. He was treated at the site and transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.
