Employee killed when burned by furniture stripper fire

On April 3, 2000, Employee #1 had been stripping furniture with a highly flammable liquid. At the end of his shift he was last seen cleaning up his work area. Shortly after that Employee #1 was seen running through the showroom taking off his shirt, which was on fire. The owner helped extinguish the flames and called emergency services. Employee #1 was taken to the Batesville Hospital and was then airlifted to the MED Burn Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Employee #1 died on April 19, 2000, of complications from his burns.
