Employee killed while repairing bobcat

At approximately 3:00 p.m., Employee #1 was attempting to repair a hydraulic hose on a Melroe Bobcat Model 773, Vehicle identification number 509635081. He elevated the bucket and the operator's protective cab in order to locate the leaking hydraulic hose located in the engine compartment. He bent over the left side of the engine compartment and disconnected one of the pressurized hydraulic hoses which caused a sudden loss of hydraulic fluid and the elevated bucket fail to the ground. Employee #1 was pinned between the bucket's metal arm and the top portion of the engine side shield crushing his spine and killing him.
